Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The International Journal of Medical Justice has partnered with LetPub to recommend English editing support for authors prior to submission. For authors whose native language is not English, editorial support from LetPub is a useful pre-submission resource.Please note that the use of editing and translation services does not guarantee your manuscript will be accepted for publication.

  1. Introduction

The International Journal of Medical Justice (IJMJ) is an official electronic, peer-reviewed journal of the GLAFIMS ACADEMY, dedicated to advancing academic discourse in the realm of medical justice and related biomedical sciences. All manuscripts must comply with the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) (www.icmje.org).

  1. Ethical Compliance

IJMJ adheres to the Declaration of Helsinki for research involving human participants (www.wma.net).

Human Subjects:

  • All studies involving human subjects must include a statement of IRB/Ethics Committee approval in the Materials and Methods
  • Written informed consent from participants must be documented and reported in the manuscript.

Animal Studies:

  • Must include Institutional Ethics Committee approval within the Materials and Methods

The Editor reserves the right to request copies of ethical approval documentation.

  1. Manuscript Submission
  • Submit manuscripts via the online submission system at http://ijmj.net.
  • A copy of the manuscript in the prescribed format must also be emailed to: editor@ijmj.net.
  • Submission will only proceed to review once all required documents are provided.
  1. Manuscript Format & Layout
  • Font: Arial, 11 pt
  • Spacing: Double-spaced
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Software: Microsoft Office programs
  • Page Numbers: Bottom-right corner
  • Blinding: Do not include author names/affiliations in the main text file
  1. Title Page

Must include:

  • Full title and short running title (max 50 characters)
  • Full names, academic degrees, and institutional affiliations of all authors
  • Name, email, mailing address, and phone number of the corresponding author
  • Disclose any prior presentation at conferences/symposia
  1. Abstract and Keywords
  • Word Limit: 300 words
  • Structure (for research articles): Objective, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion
  • No abbreviations, references, or citations
  • Keywords: 3–5, at least 2 from MeSH (https://meshb.nlm.nih.gov)
  1. Article Types and Structure

  • Structured as: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Conflict of Interest, References, Tables, Figure Legends, Figures
  • Word Limit: 5000

  • References: Ideally ≤ 60
  1. Case Reports
  • Sections: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, Acknowledgement, Conflict of Interest, References
  • Word Limit: 1500
  1. Letters to the Editor / Technical Notes
  • Short discussions or critiques
  • Word Limit: 1000
  • References: Up to 10
  1. Abbreviations

Define all abbreviations in parentheses at first mention. Use only standard international abbreviations and be consistent throughout.

  1. Tables and Figures
  • Number sequentially (Arabic numerals)
  • Each table on a separate page, double-spaced
  • Titles above tables; explanations as footnotes with standard symbols (*, †, ‡, etc.)
  • Figures must be professional, in JPEG format, ≥ 300 dpi
  • Submit figure legends on a separate page at the end of the main text
  • For patient photos, ensure anonymity or provide signed consent
  • Figures should be labeled clearly and be self-explanatory
  1. Supplementary Material

May include additional tables, figures, video, or data sets that support the article but are not suitable for the main text. Upload through the journal submission system.

  1. English Language Support

Authors, especially non-native English speakers, are encouraged to use editing services such as LetPub. Note: Use of such services does not guarantee acceptance.

  1. Publication Fees

Refer to the IJMJ website for up-to-date information on publication charges and fee policies.

  1. Peer Review Process
  • All manuscripts are subject to initial editorial screening
  • Suitable submissions are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers
  • The Editor-in-Chief has the final authority on reviewer selection and manuscript decisions
  • Receipt, acceptance, and early online dates are included upon publication
  1. Withdrawal Policy

Authors wishing to withdraw a manuscript must do so by providing a written request to the Editor.

  1. Editorial Policies

All submissions must comply with ICMJE guidelines and IJMJ policies on:

  • Conflict of Interest
  • Research Misconduct
  • Ethical Approval

These apply even to studies previously presented at conferences or meetings.
