Abstract

Post-mortem instruments play a crucial role in the autopsy process, aiding in the examination of a corpse to determine the cause and manner of death, and identify potential diseases or injuries. The evolution of post-mortem instruments has introduced new tools that enhance the ease and comfort of the autopsy procedure, replacing some older instruments. This review paper aims to collect and compile information on both new and old post-mortem instruments, providing insights into their uses, advantages, and disadvantages. Recognizing the lack of dedicated reference material for undergraduate and postgraduate students on this subject, this review serves as an attempt to gather essential information and cover various aspects of postmortem instruments
